Ayushman Card is a card through which the cardholder can get free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh every year. In this sequence, the Government of India has announced to add people aged 70 years and above to this scheme. Under this, now these people will also be able to avail the benefit of free treatment. But amidst all this, there are many questions in the minds of the people about whether every elderly will get its benefits. Will there be any category within this for which Ayushman cards will be made etc.? So let's try to know the answers to such questions running in your mind. Question: What will happen if you are already taking advantage of any other public health insurance schemes like the Central Government Health Scheme i.e. CGHS, Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme i.e. ECHS, or Ayushman Bharat Yojana Central Armed Police Force i.e. CAP?

Answer: In such a situation, you will have an option in which you can either choose your current scheme or join AB PM-JAY.

Question: Will those with ESI and private health insurance get the benefit?

Answer: If you are availing the facility of ESI, you will still be able to avail the benefits of Ayushman Yojana.

At the same time, if you have taken any private health insurance and your age is 70 years or more, then you can still get the benefit by getting an Ayushman card.

Question: Will both husband and wife get the benefit or not?

Answer: Suppose there are husband and wife whose age is 70 years or more, then in such a situation, both will not get the benefit of Rs 5 lakh each separately. Rather, a single Ayushman card will be made for both husband and wife, and the cover of Rs 5 lakh will be for both.

Question: Will the family that does not come under the purview of the scheme get the benefit?

Answer: If your family is not eligible for the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, then you will not be able to get the benefit of the scheme, but in such a situation, if there are elderly people of 70 years or above in your family, then they will get the benefit of this scheme.
