The central government is running many beneficial and welfare schemes in the country. This includes many schemes like housing, pensions, insurance, and financial benefits. One such scheme works to provide ration to the poor and that too free of cost. Actually, since the time of Kovid, the central government has been giving the benefit of free ration and about 80 crore people are taking advantage of it. Amidst all this, now the ration card holders have been asked to get e-KYC done by the Department of Supply and Food and Logistics. How can you get e-KYC done?
Step 1
If you are also a ration card holder, then you must get e-KYC done. If you do not get this done, then you may face problems in getting ration. So first you have to go to your ration shop and take all those people with you whose names are on the ration card.
Step 2
Make sure to take the ration card with you.
Then meet your ration dealer here and tell him that you want to get e-KYC done.
After this, he will do your e-KYC by taking the fingerprints of all your members in the POS machine.
This is the last date
Earlier, the Supply Department and the Food and Logistics Department had given time till 30 June 2024 to the ration card holders to get e-KYC done, but now this date has been extended and now you can get e-KYC done till 30 September 2024.
Why is e-KYC being done?
At present, about 80 crore people take advantage of free ration, but there are many ration card holders whose members have passed away or are not active, etc. But ration is being distributed in the name of that member every month. Therefore, according to the rules, the consumer will be forced to remove the name of such a member from the ration card, so that only active members can get ration.
