The consumption of fruits is considered beneficial for people of all ages. Doctors also recommend eating seasonal fruits to stay healthy. That's why some people prefer to eat fruits with milk, while others in the form of juice. Some eat fruits before sleeping at night.

The number of fruits, consumption of fruits at the wrong time and consumption of fruits in the wrong ways are such mistakes, due to which the consumption of fruits can also prove to be harmful to health.

Like everything, there is a right way and time to consume fruits to get rich nutrition from them. Today we are telling you 3 golden rules related to the consumption of fruits. This information has been shared by Ayurveda and gut health coach Dr Dimple Jangda. She says, "To get the full benefit of fruits, it is necessary to follow some rules in Ayurveda."

Rule number- 1

According to Ayurveda, fruits should never be eaten with or immediately after anything. But, most people like to eat fruits by mixing them with other things.

Do not mix fruits with other things like legumes, vegetables, grains, milk, yoghurt, and meats. By doing this, they do not get digested properly, while only fruits get digested quickly. It requires 3 hours to pass through the system (1 hour in your stomach, 1 hour in the small intestine, and 1 hour in the large intestine).

Rule number-2

Do not consume fruits after sunset, as the digestive enzymes present in fruits affect your sleep pattern. Eating fruits before going to bed can also increase the level of sugar, due to which the person becomes more active and unable to sleep.

Rule number-3

Many people eat only fruit in at least one meal a day. For this, he likes to eat fruit chaat, fruit salad and fruit bowl. It is believed that if not eaten properly, they tend to format or rot quickly and cause indigestion. This can cause problems like flatulence, bloating, diarrhoea and heartburn.

3 categories of fruits

Sweet fruit

Mango, ripe banana, papaya, melon, peach, avocado, pineapple, plum etc. are sweet fruits. These fruits are slightly heavy, soft and oily in nature and help in building and nourishing your body.

In Ayurveda, the sweet taste helps in the formation of tissues such as bones, muscles, teeth, nails and hair. It is earth and water predominant.

Citrus fruits

The list of citrus fruits includes lemon, cherry tomato, orange, tangerine, grapefruit, plum, berries, cherry, grapefruit, kiwi, green mango, etc. The nature of these fruits is light, oily and hot.

The sour taste moistens the mouth and increases the flow of saliva. These are earth and fire dominant, which promote a healthy flow of bile and help cleanse tissues.

Astringent fruit

This list includes apples, pears, unripe bananas (green), cranberries, pomegranates, berries, cherries, strawberries, watermelons, etc. These fruits are air and earth dominant, and their nature is dry, cold and heavy.

The astringent taste along with toning and tightening of tissues helps in reducing sweating and cooling off excess heat.
