Terrorist Farooq Tewada's house was located in Kalarus, Kupwara. Officials said that security forces are searching for terrorists and their associates and supporters everywhere in the valley.

 

At least 26 people were killed in firing by terrorists in Pahalgam in Anantnag district of South Kashmir on Tuesday. The attack shocked the entire country and has been condemned worldwide. Officials said that in the last 48 hours, houses of five terrorists and their associates have been demolished. They said that similar action will be taken against others involved in terrorist activities.

 

Mysterious explosions took place at the house of terrorist Adil Thokar in Bijbehara area of ​​Anantnag district and terrorist Asif Sheikh in Tral area of ​​Pulwama district, destroying the residences of both. Officials said that Thokar is the main accused in the Pahalgam massacre that took place on Tuesday, while Sheikh, a resident of Tral in Pulwama district, is suspected to be involved in the conspiracy of the attack.

He said that the houses of both the terrorists were destroyed when the explosives kept there exploded. Security forces have detained hundreds of overground workers (OWGs) and their supporters, most of whom are residents of four districts of South Kashmir, to trace the terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack.

 

Officials said that during a similar operation in Bandipora district on Friday, terrorists opened fire in which an alleged OWG was killed. They said that Altaf Lali was killed when security forces were taking him to a terrorist hideout in Kulnar area of ​​Bandipora district. Officials said that two policemen were also injured in the firing by terrorists.

He said the operation was carried out in Srinagar on Saturday, where raids were conducted at more than a dozen places, including Safakadal, Soura, Pandach Bemina, Shalteng, Lal Bazar and Zadibal areas. 24-hour search operations are being carried out in Anantnag district as security forces have been put on high alert. Officials said mobile vehicle checkpoints have been set up across the district to keep an eye on any suspicious activity.
