“Josh Is High, Pakistan Will Get a Befitting Reply”: J&K LG Manoj Sinha Visits Uri After Cross-Border Shelling

Uri, Jammu and Kashmir – Amid heightened cross-border tensions following the Pahalgam terror attack, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited the border town of Uri on Friday to assess the damage caused by Pakistan’s unprovoked shelling and to boost the morale of Indian soldiers stationed in the region.

The LG toured the affected villages of Lagma and Gingal, where he interacted with locals, met families impacted by the shelling, and reviewed the ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts. He assured the public that the government stands firmly with them during this time.

“How’s the Josh? High, Saheb!”

While interacting with Indian Army personnel in the area, LG Sinha asked the soldiers the iconic line, “How’s the josh?” to which the jawans responded with a resounding “High, Saheb!”. The moment was shared by the LG’s office on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), garnering widespread appreciation.

Prepared to Counter Any Threat: LG Sinha

After assessing the situation on the ground, the LG said,

“Our armed forces are fully prepared to respond to any provocation by Pakistan. The J&K administration is committed to ensuring that civilians do not face hardship during these testing times.”

He added that ex-gratia compensation has already been issued to the injured and deceased families, and that damage assessment is being carried out. The administration has been instructed to build new bunkers in the affected villages to enhance safety.

India’s Retaliation to Pakistan’s Drone and Missile Attack

On Thursday night, Pakistan launched more than 50 missiles and drones targeting Indian locations including Jammu, Pathankot, Amritsar, Jaisalmer, and Bhuj. However, thanks to India's robust air defense system, all incoming threats were successfully intercepted and neutralized, preventing any major damage.

Nation Stands With the Brave: LG’s Message

Expressing pride in the soldiers' bravery, Sinha said,

“I saw the resolve and strength in our soldiers’ eyes. The nation is safe in their hands. May Lord Shri Ram give them strength to protect our sovereignty and defeat the enemy.”

He further wrote online that it was an honor to be among the bravest defenders of the country in Baramulla, emphasizing their commitment to neutralizing threats and safeguarding the homeland.

Bottom Line:
With tensions rising along the LoC, LG Manoj Sinha’s Uri visit not only provided critical relief oversight but also sent a strong message of confidence in India's defense capabilities and solidarity with those affected by Pakistani aggression.
