Jaipur Hit-and-Run Horror: Accused Usman Khan Turns Out to Be Congress Leader, 3 Dead, Protests Erupt

The Jaipur hit-and-run case that shocked the nation has now taken a serious political turn. The man behind the wheel of the speeding car that crushed nine people, killing three, has been identified as Usman Khan, who was serving as the District Vice President of the Congress party. This revelation has ignited a political firestorm and triggered mass outrage across Rajasthan.

What Happened in Jaipur?

The horrific incident took place on April 7 in the Nahargarh area of Jaipur. CCTV footage captured the terrifying moment a white car, moving at high speed, ran over a biker and several pedestrians. The driver didn’t stop—instead, he fled the scene, leaving a trail of destruction.

Three people have lost their lives, including a woman, while six others are critically injured.

Usman Khan’s Political Connection Sparks Uproar

The accused, Usman Khan, was quickly taken into custody by the police. Soon after, it was revealed that he held a key position in the local Congress leadership. While the Congress party promptly removed him from the post, the damage to its image was already done.

BJP IT Cell Chief Amit Malviya slammed the Congress on social media, accusing the party of harboring individuals with “criminal tendencies,” and sarcastically remarking that even mentioning the accused’s name would be termed as a threat to “secularism.”

BJP MLA Demands Death Penalty, Bulldozer Action

BJP MLA Balmukund Acharya didn't mince words. In a fiery statement, he said:

"This was no accident. Usman Khan deliberately ran over those people. He should be hanged. We will not spare him. If needed, bulldozers will be used against those protecting him. The Congress MLA Amin Kagzi is trying to shield him—but justice will prevail."

The MLA also promised compensation for the victims' families and strict action against all involved.

Public Anger on the Streets

The city of Jaipur witnessed massive protests after the incident. Locals staged demonstrations outside the Nahargarh Police Station, demanding capital punishment for Usman Khan. Angry mobs burned tyres and set fire to property, demanding swift justice.

Initial police investigation has confirmed that the accused was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol when the tragic crash occurred.
