The government has clarified the situation regarding energy security and stocks in India amid the ongoing war in the Middle East and what options are being explored to deal with these circumstances.

According to government sources, India is in a very good position regarding energy security. Current stockpiles are good, and stocks are being replenished daily. There is no shortage of LPG or LNG in India, nor is there a global shortage of crude oil. India is also in contact with other suppliers.

Canada-Australia offered

It is reported that Australia and Canada have also offered to sell gas to India. India is also exploring other sources. Recently, India signed new contracts with the UAE and the US.

India is looking for other markets.

India imports 195 MMSCMD of gas, of which Qatar supplies only 60 MMSCMD. India is exploring other markets to purchase gas. India is in talks with major oil producers and traders to purchase crude and LPG. India is in talks with the International Energy Agency (IEA) and the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC). India is in talks with the USA to obtain ship insurance.
