A 4-year-old video of storyteller Indresh Upadhyay went viral in which he said, "Yadavs and Yaduvansh are different and Lord Krishna destroyed the entire Yaduvansh before leaving."

His statement was met with objections from the Yadav community across Uttar Pradesh, including Mathura. Members of the Yadav community held a press conference in Mathura and demanded a public apology from the narrator.

In the video, he said, "The Yadav community has a glorious history. Descendants of Lord Krishna, and all Yadav communities in India are my own. I have many Yadav friends, and we respect their culture."

He further said, "I had already clarified this topic in upcoming stories, but that part did not reach the public's attention." Following the protests from the Yadav community, storyteller Indresh Upadhyay has now apologized and expressed hope for public calm.
