Following the aggressive and highly successful Operation Sindoor, tensions between India and Pakistan have reached a boiling point. In response to the escalating situation, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has placed all security forces on high alert and cancelled the leaves of paramilitary personnel across the country.

What is Operation Sindoor?

Launched in retaliation to the brutal terror attack in Pahalgam, Operation Sindoor was designed to neutralize cross-border terror infrastructure and avenge the deaths of Indian soldiers, including female personnel. Over 90 terrorists have reportedly been eliminated so far, making it one of the most effective surgical campaigns in recent times.

Importantly, the operation made headlines for the active participation of women soldiers, symbolizing the rise of 'Nari Shakti' (women power) in India’s defense strategy.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of External Affairs has begun briefing foreign envoys about the situation, emphasizing India’s right to self-defense under international law.

Citizens Urged to Remain Calm but Vigilant

While no civil curfews or restrictions have been announced, the MHA has urged citizens, especially in sensitive border regions and metros, to stay alert, avoid rumor-mongering, and report any suspicious activity to authorities.

Local administrations have been directed to review emergency protocols, and mock drills are reportedly being conducted in parts of Jammu, Amritsar, and Delhi.
