Congress MP Shashi Tharoor's praise of Prime Minister Narendra Modi 's Ramnath Goenka Lecture has sparked a major controversy within the party. Several Congress leaders have expressed displeasure over Tharoor's remarks. The strongest reaction came from party leader Sandeep Dikshit, who directly asked Tharoor why he remained in the Congress if he believed the BJP's policies were better.

Sandeep Dixit's allegation - 'Tharoor doesn't understand the country properly'
Sandeep Dixit said that he doesn't believe Shashi Tharoor understands the country very well. He said that if someone believes that a leader or government is doing good for the country by going against the policies of the Congress, then such a person should adopt those policies and explain why they are in the Congress. He said that if Tharoor truly believes that the strategies of the BJP or Prime Minister Modi are better than those of the Congress, then he should explain it openly. If he fails to do so, he will be called a hypocrite.

What did Tharoor say? Why did the controversy begin?

Supriya Shrinate's question: "Why is PM Modi angry with journalism?"
Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate also questioned Tharoor's opinion. She said that she found nothing commendable in Prime Minister Modi's speech. Shrinate alleged that the Prime Minister is unhappy with unbiased journalism and does not like journalists who report and tell the truth. She also said that Modi spent a lot of time criticizing the Congress in his speech, which shows that he "thinks about the Congress day and night." Shrinate said that she did not know what Shashi Tharoor found commendable in this speech.

What did PM Modi say in his speech?
At the Ramnath Goenka Lecture, Prime Minister Modi also commented on the Bihar election results. He said that this election has sent a clear message to all state governments, whether left, right, or center, that their future will depend on their development policies.
