John Kiriakou said that he had made a statement saying that if there was a war between India and Pakistan, India would win. Following this, the PTI sent him a letter pressuring him to apologize.

Pakistan will lose a war with India, says former CIA officer
Former CIA officer John Kiriakou has made a significant revelation about Pakistan. He revealed that he was pressured by former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan's party, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, to apologize in a letter. This letter was sent after Kiriakou's statement, in which he assessed the strengths of India and Pakistan and claimed victory for India.
Kiriakou revealed in a podcast with Julian Dore that he was pressured to apologize to Pakistanis and even received death threats. He said that in response to the PTI letter, he told party workers that he had made toilet paper out of the letter and thrown it away.
Giving his opinion on the four-day military conflict between India and Pakistan between May 7-10, Kiriakou had advised Pakistanis that they should not provoke India because if a war breaks out, they will lose.
Speaking to news agency ANI last month, he said, "If a war actually breaks out between India and Pakistan, it will be very wrong because Pakistan will lose this war. The truth is, they will lose, and I'm not talking about nuclear war here. I'm just talking about war, and so constantly provoking Indians is not going to help."
In the podcast, Kiriakoo said that after his statement, PTI Chairman Imran Khan sent him a letter condemning his statement and demanding an immediate apology to Imran Khan, PTI workers, and the people of Pakistan. He said, "I said that if there was a war, Pakistan would lose because India's population is five times larger than Pakistan's. I cannot count the number of death threats I received. My lawyer told me to be careful and mind my surroundings." Currently, former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi leads the PTI. He has been leading the party since March 23, 2023, after Imran Khan was imprisoned.
Kiriakoo said that instead of retracting his statement, he did the exact opposite. He ignored his lawyer's advice to throw the letter away and remain silent, sending a scathing response to the letter to PTI. He said, "My lawyer was telling me to throw it away, but I didn't throw it away. I sent him an email, writing, 'Regarding your demand for an apology, I want to say I've made toilet paper out of your letter, wiped it off, and thrown it away.'" Kiriakoo wrote that he never received any threats after this.
