AIMIM performed resoundingly well in Seemanchal, winning five seats in the 2025 Bihar elections. Find out which seats the party won and where it lost.

What was the condition of Owaisi's party?
The results of the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections once again proved that Asaduddin Owaisi's party, AIMIM, still holds a strong hold in Seemanchal. Despite contesting only 25 of the state's 243 seats, AIMIM made its presence felt by winning five. This victory clearly demonstrates that Muslim voters in a large part of Seemanchal continue to consider AIMIM a credible voice.
The five seats AIMIM won all fall in the heart of the Seemanchal region, areas where the party had been dominant in previous elections.
Jokihat – Murshid Alam
Bahadurganj – Tausif Alam
Kochadhaman – Sarwar Alam
Amour – Akhtarul Iman
Baisi – Ghulam Sarwar
AIMIM candidates won these 5 seats with comfortable margins, which shows that the regional vote bank still stands strongly with the party.
Why does AIMIM hold the strongest in Seemanchal?
The social structure of Seemanchal is considered favorable for AIMIM politics. In many assembly constituencies, the Muslim population exceeds 60%. AIMIM's strategy has always focused on the issues of this region. Issues such as local leadership, lack of education, employment opportunities, and neglect of development are the main pillars of politics here. This has led to the party's continued support, and the region is becoming a stronghold for AIMIM.
In which areas has the influence of AIMIM weakened?
Despite its success in Seemanchal, AIMIM faced disappointing results in many other areas. In areas like Balrampur, Kishanganj, Kasba, and Araria, the party put up a strong fight but failed to secure victory. Outside of Seemanchal, the situation was even weaker. In areas like Dhaka, Nathnagar, Siwan, Jale, Madhubani, Munger, and Nawada, AIMIM candidates received little support and fell behind in the initial rounds. The situation was even worse in Narkatia, where the party candidate, Shamimul Haq, had his nomination rejected due to a technical error.
What the results reveal – AIMIM's political direction
These results clearly reveal three things: The party's hold here is steadily strengthening. As in the 2020 elections, AIMIM has proven its lasting influence in this region in 2025. Expanding its influence in the rest of Bihar will require a long-term strategy and strong organization. The results reflect a significant shift in Muslim votes in Seemanchal, which could shape the course of state politics in the upcoming elections.
