Horror in Pahalgam: Stripped, Identified, and Executed—Terror Attack Leaves Trail of Corpses and Chaos

In one of the most brutal terror attacks to hit Jammu and Kashmir in recent years, 27 people were killed in Pahalgam on Tuesday in an incident that has left the entire nation in shock. The attack, reportedly carried out by operatives of The Resistance Front (TRF), has exposed the sheer cruelty of the perpetrators—who allegedly stripped victims, checked their identities, and then executed them at point-blank range.

A chilling video circulating on social media shows the aftermath: lifeless bodies scattered across the ground, anguished cries in the background, and the silence of death hanging heavy in the air. Viewers have described the footage as "unbearable" and "gut-wrenching."

Top-Level Response as India Mourns

Such was the scale of the carnage that Union Home Minister Amit Shah rushed to Srinagar immediately, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally checked in via phone for ground updates. The government has vowed swift and strong action.

Massive Operation Underway

In response, a high-intensity counter-terrorism operation has been launched by the Indian Army’s Victor Force, Special Forces units, the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s Special Operations Group (SOG), and the CRPF. Troops remain on high alert, scouring the region for those involved in the ambush.

Terrorist Group Claims Responsibility

The Resistance Front, a shadow group linked to Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba, has claimed responsibility for the attack. Intelligence sources say the group’s operations are being directed by Sheikh Sajjad Gul, who is reportedly hiding in Pakistan. The attack is believed to have been executed by a local module following detailed reconnaissance.

This isn't the first time TRF has struck. Last year, they were behind a similar ambush in Ganderbal targeting laborers, and reportedly planned this attack using the same playbook—recce, target, strike, and vanish into the forested terrain.
