Myanmar Earthquake Tremors: Many buildings collapsed due to the earthquake of 7.7 magnitude in Myanmar on Friday. According to the German Research Center for Geosciences, the epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 10 kilometers.

The effect of the earthquake tremors was felt till Bangkok. Big buildings collapsed. People came out of their homes on the road in panic. Everyone ran out of their offices.

Why does earthquake occur?

The surface of our earth is made up of 7 big and many small tectonic plates. All these plates keep floating. In this sequence, sometimes they collide with each other. Many times, due to collision, the corners of the plates get bent and start breaking. In such a situation, the energy coming out from below starts looking for a place to come out. This causes disturbance and then an earthquake occurs. On the Richter scale, it ranges from 0 to 9 or more. An earthquake of more than 5 magnitude is considered dangerous. At an intensity of 6 to 6.9, the foundation of buildings cracks. At more than 7, buildings collapse. At more than 8, large bridges along with buildings collapse.

When earthquake causes huge damage

If the earthquake is of 9 or more magnitude, then there is complete destruction. It is so dangerous that if you stand in the field, you will start seeing the earth waving.
