Even before his suicide, he had accused the state's Director General of Police (DGP), who had recently been transferred. In his suicide note, he made several serious allegations, including that he began facing discrimination, humiliation, and mental harassment in 2020. The then-DGP, Manoj Yadav, initiated the harassment.
He made serious allegations, writing that other officers of the Haryana cadre continue to harass him. Regarding leave, he wrote that the then ATS Home, Rajiv Arora, denied him leave, preventing him from visiting his ailing father. Furthermore, he alleged that malicious complaints were filed against him under pseudonyms. He was publicly humiliated and embarrassed. His complaints were not even investigated. He wrote that his government vehicle was also taken away from him in November 2023. He added that he could no longer tolerate this harassment, so he has decided to end everything.
The officials he held responsible in his suicide note include Anurag Rastogi (Chief Secretary), T.V.S.N. Prasad (former Chief Secretary), Rajiv Arora (former ACS), Shatrughan Kapoor (DGP), Manoj Yadav (former DGP), and several other senior officials.
Suicides of IPS officers in the last 10 years
If we consider the suicides of IPS officers in the last 10 years, from October 14, 2015, to October 14, 2025, three IPS officers' names will emerge. The first is K. Sashi Kumar, who committed suicide with his service revolver between June 16 and 17, 2016. Sashi Kumar, a 2012-batch IPS officer, was then posted as Superintendent of Police, Paderu, Vizag Agency, Andhra Pradesh. Several media reports state that he did not blame anyone for his actions. He was 29 years old at the time of his suicide.
The second name is that of Himanshu Roy, a 1988 batch (Maharashtra cadre) IPS officer. He held important positions in the Mumbai Police, including Joint Commissioner of Crime, Chief of the Maharashtra ATS, and later ADGP (Establishment). He was known as the "Supercop." According to media reports, he committed suicide by shooting himself in the mouth on May 11, 2018. He had been suffering from cancer for a long time.
