Why does a solar eclipse occur: A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun and the Earth. In such a situation, it becomes difficult for the sunlight to reach the Earth. Due to this, the shadow of the Moon falls on the Earth, and only a part of the Sun is visible. However, there are three types of solar eclipses, partial, annular and total solar eclipse.
Why does a lunar eclipse occur: Both solar eclipse and lunar eclipse are astronomical phenomena. Lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth revolves around the Sun and the Moon revolves around the Earth. In this process, there comes a time when the Moon, Earth and Sun come in a straight line. In this situation, the sunlight falls on the Earth, but is unable to reach the Moon. This phenomenon is called lunar eclipse.
