How to save in the beginning?
If you notice a small crack in the grout, first determine if only the top layer is affected or if the tiles are also shifting. It's best to completely remove weak and broken grout and clean the joint. Only fill in new grout after removing dust and old debris. Applying new grout directly over old, broken grout may result in a long-lasting repair.
Always prepare new grout according to the manufacturer's instructions and allow it to dry sufficiently. Avoid exposing the floor to water or heavy loads. It's also important to have expansion or movement joints in place over large floor areas. These joints help reduce the pressure of expansion and contraction of the floor. When installing tiles, use proper base preparation, the right adhesive, and high-quality grout. Don't neglect waterproofing in damp areas. If joints are repeatedly cracking in the same area, tiles are shifting, or there are signs of moisture beneath the floor, it's best to have an expert inspect the area rather than simply attempting home repairs.
