Mumbai: A sensational incident of rape of a female dancer has come to light in Mumbai. This incident was carried out by a male dancer. Police have arrested the accused based on the female dancer's complaint. The victim stated that she was raped in Goregaon. The victim is a resident of Meghalaya. According to police, the accused lives in Malad West. He had fled after the FIR was filed. Police have now arrested him. The victim alleges that after swimming and dance practice in the swimming pool, she ordered food. They drank alcohol and smoked. The accused then raped her.

Dance Party and Then Rape
According to the police complaint, the incident occurred on March 17, 2025, at a villa in Royal Palms, located in Aarey Colony, Goregaon West. The victim and the accused are both dancers and knew each other. The accused is from Odisha, while the victim is from Meghalaya. They had previously worked together and traveled to Goa for performances. After returning to Mumbai, the victim contacted him for dance lessons. Initially, they tried to book the Andheri Sports Complex for practice, but it was unavailable. They then decided to practice at Royal Palms, located in Aarey Colony. After swimming and dance practice, they ordered food. They also drank alcohol and smoked.

The victim initially concealed the case.
Police have arrested the accused, who had fled after the case was registered. The accused had promised the victim a job along with dance practice. According to the police, the accused has been identified as Ashutosh Mohanty. The accused tried to have physical relations with the victim, and he used force despite her resistance. Fearing defamation, the victim initially concealed the incident, but later narrated her ordeal to Senior Police Inspector Ravindra Patil of Versova Police Station. According to the police, the victim is 31 years old and the male dancer is 29 years old. According to the police, in the last week of September, the woman filed a complaint of sexual harassment against her colleague at Aarey Police Station. Following this, the police registered a case and arrested the accused the same day.
