Final Verdict on Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma's Divorce to be Announced on March 20

The Bombay High Court has directed the Bandra Family Court to deliver its final decision on the divorce case of Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and choreographer Dhanashree Verma on March 20. Reports indicate that the court has also waived the mandatory six-month cooling-off period, following a mutual consent petition filed by the couple. This legal provision is usually given to allow a possible reconciliation, but since no such possibility exists, the court has expedited the process.

Why the Urgency?

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 begins on March 22, and Chahal, who is set to play for Punjab Kings, will be occupied with the tournament. Considering his professional commitments, the High Court has asked for a swift resolution before the IPL kicks off.

Chahal & Dhanashree's Separation Timeline

  • Living Separately Since: June 2022 (Two and a half years)
  • Divorce Petition Filed: February 5, 2025
  • Mutual Agreement on Alimony: ₹4.75 Crore
    • ₹2.37 Crore already paid
    • Remaining amount to be settled post-divorce order

A Short-Lived Marriage

Chahal and Dhanashree's love story began during the COVID-19 pandemic, with dance classes bringing them closer. They tied the knot on December 22, 2020, but their marriage lasted less than two years before they decided to part ways.

With the High Court’s latest directive, the couple's separation will soon be legally finalized, marking the end of their journey together.
