Film Title Registration: Not only Operation Sindoor, there was competition in Bollywood for these titles too..

In the Hindi film industry, the race to register film titles based on trending topics is common. As soon as any national event – be it corona, military operation, space mission, or social issue – takes place, producers start registering titles inspired by it. Let us talk about the recent Operation Sindoor in Pakistan. Within a few hours of Operation Sindoor, filmmakers started competing to register this title.

Operation Sindoor – Inspired by this military operation launched by the Indian Army, more than 15 titles were registered. At one time, more than 30 applications had been received to make a film on this title. The filmmakers wanted to make a film on this issue with this title so that it would have a deep impact on the audience. Earlier, filmmakers have competed to make films or at least register titles on many such incidents and issues. Let us tell you about some such titles.
Balakot Air Strike (2019)
After the success of Uri: The Surgical Strike, more than 35 titles were registered on the Pulwama attack and the Balakot strike of 14 February 2019. But only four titles were copyrighted and no film has been made on any of them till now.
Now talking about Corona, during the Corona period, there was a flood of applications from makers to register titles on it. Many titles including Deadly Corona, Ishq Vishk Corona, Corona Pyar Hai, Go Corona Go, Lockdown Mein Love Story, and Lockdown El Locha were registered, but films were not made on them.
Chandrayaan-3 Landing (2023)
Titles registered after the success of the Moon Mission - Many titles including Mission Chandrayaan, Hindustan Ki Shaan Chandrayaan, Chandrayaan Ki Khoj, and Chandrayaan Ki Yatra were taken, but films were not made.
Removal of Article 370 (2019)
After this constitutional change, many titles were registered, including Article 370, Kashmir Hamara Hai, Article 370 Removal, Kashmir Mein Tiranga, 370 Article.
26/11 Mumbai Terror Attack (2008)
The first title was Mumbai Operation 26/11. According to BBC, names like the documentary Taj Terror, Operation Five Star Mumbai, 26/11 Mumbai Under Attack, and Shootout at Mumbai were also registered.
How are film titles registered?
If Bollywood filmmakers want to make a film on any trending topic, then they have to register the title in the following institutions. Film and Television Producers Council (FTPC), Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA), Western India Film Producers Association (WIFPA)
