A sacred moment unfolded in Ayodhya on April 6, as faith and science converged in a breathtaking spectacle at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir. Exactly at 12 noon, a focused beam of sunlight fell directly on the forehead of Lord Shri Ram Lalla, marking the highly anticipated Surya Tilak — an event millions had been waiting to witness on the occasion of Ram Navami.
Sun God’s Salute to Ram Lalla
As chants of devotion echoed across Ayodhya, the sun’s rays streamed through a meticulously designed architectural path, touching Ram Lalla’s forehead for four divine minutes. The temple, buzzing with devotees and emotion, stood still in awe as the Sun God seemed to bow in reverence to the Suryavanshi prince.
A Spiritual Marvel Guided by Science
The Surya Tilak wasn't just a spiritual miracle but also a scientific achievement. Experts and temple architects had planned the precise positioning of mirrors and lenses to ensure that, once a year on Ram Navami, the sun’s rays would align perfectly with Ram Lalla’s idol. That vision came alive in the most divine way possible.
Mahant Sanjay Das: "A Supernatural Sight"
Mahant Sanjay Das of Hanumangarhi called it a “divine and historical” moment. He said,
“Lord Ram was born into the Suryavansh (Solar dynasty), and today, it felt as if the Sun himself had arrived to perform his tilak. This is not just tradition — it's a connection to the divine legacy of Ram.”
He also praised the efforts of scientists and the administration in pulling off this celestial alignment with such precision.
Devotion Floods the City
From early morning hours, Ayodhya overflowed with pilgrims, all eyes fixed on that single moment when the heavens would meet the earth. And when the moment came, tears of devotion and joy flowed freely.
This Surya Tilak was not just a visual — it was an emotional and spiritual experience etched into the hearts of all who witnessed it.
