Disturbing Case in Meerut: Woman Forced to Drink Mosquito Repellent, Left in Agony, and Given Triple Talaq

A shocking and heartbreaking incident has emerged from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, where a woman endured severe abuse from her husband and in-laws after giving birth to a daughter. The victim, Yasmin, alleges that her husband and in-laws subjected her to physical and emotional torment, including forcing her to drink mosquito repellent, All Out, which severely harmed her health. The abuse continued, and she was abandoned in a state of agony on the road.

Yasmin, a resident of Sanjay Colony in Arthala, Meerut, was married to Sanwar, a resident of Khushal Mohalla, on July 24, 2020. She claims that since their marriage, her husband and in-laws have harassed her, both physically and mentally. However, the situation escalated after the birth of their daughter in 2021.

According to Yasmin, her in-laws were disappointed by the birth of a girl and responded with cruelty. She alleges that her husband beat her after the birth and, in an even more disturbing act, both her husband and in-laws forced her to drink All Out mosquito repellent, resulting in a serious health deterioration. Unable to bear the pain, she was left abandoned on the road while being transported to her maternal home. Yasmin’s family eventually learned of the abuse and rushed her to the hospital for medical treatment.

Once she recovered, her in-laws sought forgiveness and took her back home, but the abuse continued. Her husband, Sanwar, allegedly gave her triple talaq during this period, further deepening her trauma. Yasmin has since filed a complaint with the police, leading to the registration of a case against her husband, father-in-law, sister-in-law, and brother-in-law on charges of harassment, dowry abuse, and other offenses. The police have launched an investigation and are actively searching for the accused.

This disturbing case sheds light on the ongoing struggles women face, even in the face of extreme violence and injustice, highlighting the urgent need for stronger protections and support for victims of domestic abuse.
