Dearness Allowance News: Salary of Central Employees

Central government employees and pensioners may receive good news of a DA increase before Diwali. Currently, employees receive 60% DA of their basic salary. If the government increases this to 63%, it will significantly increase their monthly salary.

For example, employees with a basic salary of ₹18,000 could receive an additional ₹540 per month. However, the government has not yet officially announced this increase. Let's understand the details here.

If the salary increases to 63%, how much will it increase?
Dearness allowance is calculated based on the basic salary. The central government typically revises the DA twice a year. After this increase, effective January 2026, the DA rate is 60%.

Now, the next installment is awaited, which will be implemented in July 2026. Media reports are predicting a 3 percent increase. If this happens, the DA will increase from 60% to 63%.

How much will your monthly salary increase?
If an employee's basic salary is ₹18,000, then at the current 60% DA rate, they receive ₹10,800 in dearness allowance each month. If the DA rate is 63%, this amount will increase to ₹11,340. This means they will receive ₹540 more each month. Let's understand this from the perspective of other basic salaries:
