CGPSC scam: Bhupesh Baghel's OSD reveals secrets before ED

The Enforcement Directorate has taken major action in the highly publicized CGPSC scam. Chetan Borgharia, the then-OSD and Additional Collector to former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, was arrested in connection with the case.

 

 

Enforcement Directorate's action continues in the much-talked-about CGPSC scam.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken major action in the highly publicized CGPSC scam. Chetan Borgharia, the then Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, was arrested in connection with the case. He is currently posted as Additional Collector in Balrampur-Ramanujganj, Chhattisgarh.

Question papers were leaked in the 2020-21 academic year.

Several major revelations have emerged following Chetan Borgharia's arrest. According to the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Borgharia is being questioned on seven-day custodial remand. The investigating agency claims that the alleged question paper leak occurred in the 2020 and 2021 CGPSC examinations. Borgharia's role in the investigation into the extortion of illegal funds from candidates and money laundering has also come to light. He has been arrested under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002.

A case has been registered against the then chairman.

Earlier, the Enforcement Directorate initiated an investigation based on an FIR filed by the Economic Offences Wing/ACB, Raipur. This FIR was filed regarding corruption and irregularities in the CGPSC state service examinations. Subsequently, the CBI initiated an investigation into the matter. The central investigating agency filed a case against the then-CGPSC Chairman, Taman Singh Sonwani, and others. Subsequently, a charge sheet was filed in the case.
