CBSE has extended the last date for the Single Girl Child Scholarship 2025 to November 20, 2025. Eligible girl students can now avail the scholarship of Rs 500 per month by applying online.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the application deadline for the Single Girl Child Scholarship 2025. Eligible female students can now apply for this scholarship until November 20, 2025. Originally scheduled for October 23, the board has extended the deadline to provide additional application time. This scholarship scheme aims to encourage female students who are the only child in their families and have excelled in their Class 10 exams.
Under this scheme, selected female students will receive financial assistance of ₹500 per month. This assistance will last for a maximum of two years. Its purpose is to provide financial support to female students during their studies and encourage their education. Tuition fees are also covered under this scheme. According to the scheme's rules, tuition fees can be a maximum of ₹1,500 per month. For non-resident Indian (NRI) female students, this limit is ₹6,000 per month.
Who can apply?
Eligibility for this scholarship is based on certain criteria. First, the student must be an Indian citizen. Additionally, the student must have passed the Class 10 examination from the CBSE and be enrolled in Class 11 or 12. The student must have scored at least 60 percent marks in Class 10. Furthermore, the student must be the only child in the family.
Renewal facility
This scholarship is available for two years. After completing grade 11, the student can renew it for one year. Renewal requires the student to be promoted in the class and obtain a total of 50 percent or more marks in the examination. This requirement ensures that the student consistently performs well in her studies.

The application process for female students is completely online. They must first visit the official CBSE website, cbse.gov.in. Once on the website, female students must click on the 'Apply' link next to "Public Notice" on the main page. Clicking on the link will redirect them to another page.
