Caught Red-Handed: Patna Cop Demands ₹50,000 Bribe, Nabbed by Vigilance While Accepting Money

A major bribery scandal has rocked Shastri Nagar police station in Patna, Bihar. Inspector Ajit Kumar was caught red-handed by the Vigilance Bureau while accepting a ₹50,000 bribe from a woman named Noor Jahan, who had come seeking help in a police case.


'Pay ₹50,000 or I won’t help you'

Noor Jahan had approached the inspector to request assistance in a case registered at Shastri Nagar. Instead of support, she was allegedly demanded a bribe of ₹50,000. When she refused and pleaded for help, the inspector not only declined but also threatened to worsen the situation.

Distressed, the woman reported the incident to the Vigilance Bureau, which quickly laid a trap.


Inspector Nabbed in the Act

Following standard procedure, the vigilance team gave marked notes to the complainant and recorded the exchange. As soon as Inspector Ajit Kumar accepted the bribe, he was arrested on the spot and taken into custody. He is currently being interrogated.


Repeat Offender?

According to sources in vigilance, this is not the first time Inspector Ajit Kumar has been under scrutiny. Similar complaints and arrests have been made in the past at multiple police stations in Patna, where officers have been caught demanding bribes. All such cases are now being tried in court.
