BJP releases second list of candidates in West Bengal, Roopa Ganguly also gets a ticket

West Bengal Election 2026 Second BJP Candidates List: The BJP has fielded Dibyendu Adhikari, brother of Suvendu Adhikari, from the Egra seat. Sanat Sardar is the party's candidate from the Sandeshkhali seat.

 

BJP releases second list of candidates in West Bengal

The BJP has released its second list of 111 candidates for the West Bengal Assembly elections. The party has changed the candidate for the Bishnupur Assembly seat. Additionally, the BJP has announced the name of a BJP-supported candidate from Joypur. The party has given Roopa Ganguly the ticket from Sonarpur South. After announcing Agniswar Naskar from Bishnupur (SC), the BJP has now given the ticket to Viswajit Khan.

 

The BJP has fielded former Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nisith Pramanik from Mathabhanga (SC). The party has also fielded Dadhiram Roy from Mekliganj, Laxman Limbu from Madarihat, Naresh Chandra Roy from Dhupguri, Kaushik Roy from Maynaguri, Ananta Deb Adhikari from Jalpaiguri, Noman Roy from Darjeeling, Sabita Barman from Itahar, Sunil Choudhary from Farakka, Chitto Mukherjee from Jangipur, and Rana Pratap Singh Roy from Raninagar.

The BJP has fielded Dibyendu Adhikari, brother of Suvendu Adhikari, from the Agra constituency. Sanat Sardar is the party's candidate from the Sandeshkhali constituency, which has garnered nationwide attention. Rekha Patra, a leader who emerged from the Sandeshkhali movement, has been fielded from Hingalganj. Indranil Khan, the state president of the party's youth wing, has been fielded from Behala West. Ritesh Tiwari has been nominated from Kashipur Belgachhia.

The BJP announced the names of 144 candidates in its first list and 111 in its second list. The party is yet to announce candidates for 39 seats. The 2026 Bengal elections are likely to revolve around Mamata Banerjee versus Suvendu Adhikari. The BJP has fielded Suvendu Adhikari from Nandigram and Bhawanipur. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will contest from the Bhawanipur seat.
