Asaram Bapu News: Rajasthan HC refused to extend the interim bail of Asaram Bapu, who is serving life sentence in the sexual misconduct case. Now he will have to surrender to Jodhpur Central Jail by August 30.

Asaram, who is serving a life sentence in Jodhpur sexual assault case, has suffered a big setback from Rajasthan High Court. The court refused to extend his interim bail. This decision was given on the basis of medical report of Ahmedabad Civil Hospital. Now Asaram will have to surrender in Jodhpur Central Jail by 30th August.

Rajasthan High Court clarified that according to the medical report, Asaram's health is fit to stay in jail at present. This order has been given by the double bench of High Court Justice Dinesh Mehta and Justice Vineet Kumar Mathur. The court said that if his condition becomes serious in future, he can apply for bail again, but at present he is healthy and he will have to return to jail to serve his sentence.

Surrender deadline set

The court said in its order that Asaram will have to surrender in Jodhpur Central Jail by August 30. At present, the interim bail was extended by Asaram's lawyer. The court has rejected the bail plea based on the feedback given by three doctors of the government hospital in his medical report. This decision is being considered a big setback for the accused, who is already serving a life sentence in a serious case of sexual misconduct.

Let us tell you that a bail plea was also filed by Asaram on August 12, but the court extended the period till August 29, giving relief on the basis of the medical report, this time, the court has issued an order for surrender. 

What could be the next step?

The court also clarified that if Asaram faces any major health problem in the future, he can apply for bail again on the basis of a new medical report. For now, this order clearly indicates that he will no longer be able to stay out of jail and it will be mandatory to surrender at the scheduled time.
