Aja Ekadashi 2025: Aja Ekadashi is on August 19. On this day, lighting a lamp at a particular place removes the darkness of life. Happiness and prosperity arrive.

Aja Ekadashi 2025:  Aja Ekadashi fast will be observed on 19 August 2025. On this day, there is a ritual of worshipping the Upendra form of Lord Vishnu. This Ekadashi falls after Shri Krishna Janmashtami. It is also called Annada Ekadashi.

It is believed that with the fruit of this Ekadashi, the wishes of a person that he has been wishing for years are fulfilled. Apart from worshipping Shri Hari on Aaja Ekadashi, also light lamps at some special places, it is believed that by doing this, Goddess Lakshmi comes running to the house.

Where to light lamps on Aaja Ekadashi

• Lamp at the main entrance - On the day of Aaja Ekadashi, lighting a lamp at the main entrance of the house is considered very auspicious. Light a ghee lamp; it is believed that this brings positive energy into the house. Happiness, prosperity and peace come into life.
• Light a lamp near Tulsi - Light a lamp near Tulsi on the evening of Aaja Ekadashi. Also chant the mantra 'Om Shreem Tulsyai Namah' 11 or 108 times. It is believed that this brings Goddess Lakshmi to the house, financial happiness and prosperity increases. Worshiping Tulsi also pleases Goddess Lakshmi.
• Peepal - On the day of Aja Ekadashi, it is believed that Lord Vishnu resides in Peepal tree, therefore, a lamp must be lit under the Peepal tree on this night. Doing so gives peace to the souls of ancestors and removes all kinds of defects in the horoscope.
• Kitchen - Kitchen is considered to be the place of Mother Annapurna. By lighting a lamp in the kitchen on this holy night, there is no shortage of wealth and positive energy resides in the house.
• Pond - On Aja Ekadashi, donate lamps in a pond or lake. By donating lamps, sins are destroyed and salvation is attained.
