Congress Leader Pawan Khera: Congress national spokesperson Pawan Khera has raised questions on the impartiality of the Election Commission. He has accused it of working at the behest of the central government and BJP. He questioned the voter list revision campaign. Pawan Khera said that the process being adopted in Bihar is a well-planned conspiracy, under which an attempt is being made to deprive lakhs of people of their right to vote.
'There is no such thing as fairness anymore'
Instead of answering our questions, the Election Commission has started doing these things. Now there is no such thing as impartiality left. This is a very serious matter. We are constantly raising this issue. Other opposition parties, Mamta Banerjee have also raised questions. Here, Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav has also put the Election Commission in the dock. He has made allegations calling the Election Commission an agent of the BJP.
Meanwhile, CPI state secretary Ramnaresh Pandey has issued a statement saying that the Election Commission of India is conspiring to remove the names of tribal, Dalit and minority voters from the list in the name of special voter list revision campaign in Bihar. BJP is trying to make the Election Commission a laboratory in Bihar.
Elections may be held in October-November
Let us tell you that elections are to be held in Bihar this year. Assembly elections can be held in October-November. The Election Commission has announced a special intensive revision in six states of the country to ensure fairness and accuracy of the voter list. It is being started from Bihar.
The main objective of the commission is to exclude illegal foreign migrants who have been included in the voter list on the basis of fake documents. This decision has been taken at a time when action is being taken against illegal migrants from Bangladesh and Myanmar in many states. The last special Gagan revision in Bihar was done in 2003.
