A Tragic End: Husband Kills Wife After 12-Year Separation Over Property Dispute

In a shocking turn of events, a man in Dungarpur, Rajasthan, has been arrested for the brutal murder of his wife, Babli Damor, following a long-standing property dispute. The couple, who had been married for 18 years, had separated over 12 years ago due to ongoing disputes. However, six months ago, Babli returned to her husband after both parties reconciled their differences.

The Rifts That Led to Tragedy

Despite the reconciliation, old suspicions and tensions resurfaced when Babli grew increasingly concerned that her husband, Bakshi Damor, might leave his property to his brother-in-law’s son instead of their own son. This suspicion led to a serious argument on April 16, where Babli demanded that Bakshi make their son the rightful heir to his property. This conversation escalated into a heated fight between the couple.

The following day, on April 17, Babli asked Bakshi to drop her at her sister’s house in Mandwa Navagraha. However, the dispute flared up again during the journey. In a fit of rage, Bakshi physically assaulted Babli and then strangled her to death. Afterward, he discarded her lifeless body into a 50-foot dry well in Kundi Wale Pass near Mandwa Khaparada village, about 3 kilometers away from their home.

The Surrender

After committing the crime, Bakshi returned home, keeping the incident to himself. However, by April 20, overwhelmed by guilt, he went to the Sadar police station and confessed to the murder. The police were stunned by his confession and immediately followed him to the well where Babli’s body was dumped. There, they recovered her body based on Bakshi’s directions.

The Investigation

Once Babli’s body was retrieved, the police launched a thorough investigation into the crime. Bakshi explained that the dispute over inheritance and the growing suspicion about his intentions regarding the property had led to the fatal altercation. The police were shocked to learn that a long-standing domestic conflict and misunderstandings over property inheritance had led to such a tragic outcome.

Bakshi has since been arrested, and the investigation into the circumstances of the murder continues. This tragic incident highlights how unresolved conflicts and property disputes, combined with old resentments, can sometimes lead to irreversible consequences.
