8th Pay Commission News: PSNM, the organization representing central teachers and employees, has placed many big demands for itself before the Eighth Pay Commission.

8th Pay Commission: The National Council-Joint Consultative Machinery (NC-JCM) submitted an official memorandum on April 14th regarding the 8th Pay Commission, demanding a minimum salary of ₹69,000 and a fitment factor of 3.833. Meanwhile, teachers' organizations like the Progressive Shikshak Nyay Manch (PSNM) have proposed a minimum basic pay of ₹50,000-₹60,000 for central government teachers and employees. The PSNM is an organization representing central government teachers in union territories.
Other demands of PSNM

PSNM has several other demands for teachers, such as increasing the House Rent Allowance (HRA) to 36 per cent, increasing the annual increment to 7 per cent, merging the Dearness Allowance (DA) with the basic pay when it reaches 50 per cent, restoring the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) and giving minimum assured promotions after every 6, 12, 18 and 24 years.
- The employee organization also demands that the minimum basic salary of a Level 1 employee should be between Rs 50,000 and Rs 60,000.

- PSNM has also demanded an annual salary hike of 6%-7%, which will ensure an annual increase of about 10% in salaries.
Allowances and promotions
- The employees' union has proposed that the current rate of HRA for different cities be increased from 10%, 20% and 30% to 12%, 24% and 36%.
- There is a proposal to increase the Children Education Allowance to Rs 7000 per month.
- There is also a demand to give at least 5 promotions during 30 years of service.
This is also the demand of the organization.
The employees' union has also proposed that the transport allowance be increased to 12%-15% of the basic salary (minimum ₹9,000 + DA percentage increase). The TA rates for different levels of employees are ₹1,800, ₹3,600, and ₹7,200.
Employees have also demanded a digital support allowance (for broadband and AI support) of ₹2,000 per month. The 7th Pay Commission does not provide such an allowance.
