New Delhi: While the entire city of Raipur was busy in Holika Dahan, Yuvraj Singh was playing Holi of sixes with Australia at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Stadium. In the semi-final of International Masters League (IML), India Masters defeated Australia Masters and made it to the finals due to Yuvraj Singh's stormy innings.

Yuvraj Singh, famous for playing match-winning innings in important matches against Australia, once again troubled his old rivals. Yuvraj Singh scored 59 runs in just 30 balls, which included seven towering sixes and a four. He especially targeted Australian spinners Bryce McGain, Steve O'Keefe and Xavier Doherty and demonstrated his special slog sweep.

 

 

The left-handed batsman reached his half-century in just 26 balls

and his dominance was evident in an over against leg-spinner McGain in which he smashed three sixes in a row. This display of power and accuracy effectively established his dominance over Shane Watson's Australian team.

 

 

India Masters posted a huge score

After winning the toss and electing to field, Australia posted a strong score of 220 for 7. Yuvraj Singh's explosive middle overs performance was built on the solid foundation laid by Sachin Tendulkar who scored a quick 42 off 30 balls with the help of 7 fours. Stuart Binny added crucial runs by scoring 36 off 21 balls while Yusuf Pathan played a quick 23 off 10 balls. Irfan Pathan also performed brilliantly in the end scoring 19 runs off just 7 balls and played a vital role in taking India Masters to a strong score.

Who will face Indian Masters in the final?

In reply, Australia Masters could not do much against India Masters and were all out for just 126 runs thanks to Shahbaz Nadeem's four wickets. Thus, with a huge victory of 96 runs, India reached the final of the International Masters League. The second semi-final will be played today on the same ground between Sri Lanka Masters and West Indies Masters. The winning team will face India Masters on March 16.
