35 lakh names will 'disappear' from Bihar's voter list, Election Commission's new update will bring political storm!

Bihar Voter List Update 2025: The Special Summary Revision (SIR) campaign being run to update the voter list before the assembly elections 2025 in Bihar has now reached its final stage.

Bihar Voter List Update 2025: The process of submitting voter enumeration forms (EF) under the ongoing Special Summary Revision (SIR) campaign in Bihar has reached its final stage. Now, only 11 days are left for the last date. Meanwhile, after two rounds of door-to-door verification by BLOs, EFs have been collected from 6,60,67,208, i.e., 83.66% of the total 7,89,69,844 voters in the state.

According to the State Election Office, in the investigation so far, 1.59% voters have been found dead, while 2.2% voters have permanently shifted to another place. Apart from this, 0.73% voters have been found whose names were registered at more than one place. In this way, a total of 4.52% names are in a position to be removed from the voter list.

The status of 88.18% voters became clear.

As per the current situation, the status of a total of 88.18% voters has become clear, either they have submitted their forms or their name remains at the same place or they have permanently shifted. Now only 11.82% voters are those whose filled EF forms are yet to be submitted. Out of these, a large number of voters have expressed their desire to submit the forms along with the documents in the coming days. The Election Commission has appealed to the remaining voters to submit the EF forms along with their documents within the stipulated time limit so that their information can be updated and the voter list can be made more transparent and error-free.

Tejashwi Yadav aimed.

The opposition has strongly criticized this process of SIR. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has warned that if even 1% of voters are removed from each assembly constituency, then on average, about 3,200 voters can be removed from each seat.

Now that this figure has increased to more than 5%, the opposition fears that this can have a direct impact on the election results.

The matter is under the supervision of the Supreme Court.

The case related to the SIR process is currently under the supervision of the Supreme Court. In the last hearing, the court had directed the Election Commission to ensure the identification of voters only on the basis of valid documents like Aadhaar card, ration card and voter ID card. The next hearing of the case is scheduled on July 28.
