274 people died in Air India plane crash, families of 33 people who lost their lives on the ground will also get Rs 1 crore each

Air India Crash: The number of people who lost their lives in the Ahmedabad plane crash is increasing. By Saturday, the death toll has risen to 274. This includes people who were present on the ground at the time of the accident.

Apart from the passengers and crew members on the plane, this included people who lost their lives on the ground. Tata Group has also announced a compensation of Rs 1 crore each to the families of the 33 people who lost their lives on the ground.

Since the plane crashed into the hostel of BJ Medical College, the dead include many doctors, medical students, hospital staff and people from Meghaninagar area near the airport. Their number is 33. That is, in total, the families of the passengers and crew members on board the plane as well as those who lost their lives on the ground are eligible for compensation. Tata Group has also said that it will bear the expenses incurred on the medical treatment of the injured in the accident so that the injured can get the help and care they need. Not only this, Tata Group will also help in rebuilding the BJ Medical Hostel which was badly damaged in the Dreamliner accident. 

 

 

Will Tata provide any other kind of help? 

The death of 241 passengers and crew members has been confirmed in this plane crash. Only one of them has survived. 33 victims were probably present in or around Ahmedabad's BJ Medical College campus at the time of the accident. When asked whether Tata Group will offer any help other than compensation, such as giving jobs to the family members? According to the Indian Express report, "On this, an official said, nothing has been decided about this at the moment."

 

Apart from the Rs 1 crore given by the Tata Group, the families of the passengers who died in the accident will also get about Rs 1.5 crore as compensation from insurance companies. The primary insurers for the Air India policy are Tata AIG General Insurance (the leading insurer with more than 40 percent stake), ICICI Lombard General Insurance, New India Assurance and other PSU general insurers.
