1.27 lakh children took advantage of the Prime Minister's Internship Scheme, the government launched an app

In the first round of the pilot project of the scheme, more than 1.27 lakh internship opportunities were provided by companies and the second round of the project started in January this year, under which more than 1.18 lakh internship opportunities were notified by about 327 companies. The last date for application in the second round is March 31.

 

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday launched a mobile application for the Pradhan Mantri Internship Scheme and urged more and more companies to join the program. The Union Finance Minister said that she has appealed to MPs to encourage the youth to join this scheme.

 

The pilot project of this scheme, which aims to provide 1.25 lakh internship opportunities to the youth during the financial year 2024-25, was launched on October 3, 2024. After launching the app in the national capital on Monday, Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Sitharaman said that the scheme aims to bring youth from tier II and III cities and help them understand the skills required by the industry as well as job availability.

More and more companies should participate

She said there is a shortage of people in terms of the expectations and requirements of the industry and this scheme aims to bridge that gap. Regarding the scheme, she emphasized that there is no pressure on the industry and there is no interference in it. Sitharaman said that this scheme is for the national interest and she urged more and more companies to be a part of it.

 

 

The minister said, Indian industry should participate in the larger interest. You need to open the window… so that people can take a look at it. Minister of State for Corporate Affairs Harsh Malhotra said that the scheme provides ground experience to the youth and will help them contribute to a developed India.
