Death From Infection: Even today we are not serious about the increasing pollution. Whereas its consequences can be as serious as sending the body to the ICU. Not only this, due to this, lakhs of people are dying every year. In such a situation, what are the measures to prevent it? Let's know.

Bacterial infection is the cause of 1 in every 8 deaths worldwide every year. An analysis published in 'The Lancet Journal' has revealed that about 7.5 lakh people who lose their lives every year due to antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in low and middle-income countries can be saved by taking better steps to prevent infection.
The researchers said these measures include hand hygiene, regular cleaning and disinfection of equipment in hospitals and health care centres, providing clean drinking water, maintaining proper hygiene and vaccinating children on time.
One in every eight deaths is due to infection
An international team of researchers estimated that one in every eight deaths worldwide each year is caused by a bacterial infection. According to the researchers, out of a total of 7.7 million deaths, 5 million are related to bacteria. These bacteria become resistant to antibiotics, due to which the medicine has no effect on the person.
Antibiotics are necessary for prevention
"Access to effective antibiotics is vital for patients around the world. Not being able to provide people with these antibiotics puts us at risk of achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals of saving children and maintaining long-term health," said study co-author Iruka Okeke, a professor at the University of Ibadan in Nigeria.
Benefits of antibiotics
Okeke said effective antibiotics can help keep you well longer, reduce your risk of disease, limit health care costs and make surgery easier.
Cleanliness is essential for life
Improving infection control and prevention in health care facilities, including regular cleaning and disinfection of hands and equipment, could save 3.37 lakh lives each year. Providing clean drinking water to people and effectively maintaining cleanliness in public facilities such as toilets could save about 2.5 lakh lives.
