What was discussed with Deputy CM Ajit about NCP in a closed room?

NCP Party: Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar have attended an industrial project program, keeping aside their political differences. After this meeting, discussions have started in political circles on the possible reconciliation of both factions of NCP.

In this episode, a closed-door meeting between Maratha Kshatrapa Sharad Pawar and Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar in Pune gave rise to discussions in political circles. After this meeting, many speculations were made whether there was a discussion on reuniting the two factions of the Nationalist Congress Party. But Sharad Pawar dismissed these speculations and clarified that no political issue was discussed in the meeting. However, he has definitely told some things. 

 

Discussion on sugar industry project

Actually Sharad Pawar said that the purpose of the meeting was only to discuss issues related to a sugar industry project. He said that Ajit Pawar, I and other people associated with the sugar industry project were present in the meeting. There was no discussion on any issue related to any party. This meeting was held during the annual general meeting of Vasantdada Sugar Institute VSI. Sharad Pawar was present in it as the president and Ajit Pawar as a member.

 

During this, an incident was witnessed when the seating

arrangement changed during the meeting. While earlier both the leaders were supposed to sit together, Ajit Pawar changed his seat by removing a chair. On this, Sharad Pawar said that Maharashtra's Cooperative Minister Babasaheb Patil had to discuss something with him, so he was allowed to sit in the middle. Ajit Pawar also called it normal and said that I can talk to Sharad Pawar anytime. My voice reaches far.

 

What did Sharad Pawar say on party unity?

After the meeting, Sharad Pawar was asked if there was any discussion on the possibility of reconciliation between the two factions of the NCP. To this, he clarified that no issue related to the party was discussed in the meeting. It was completely focused on the sugar industry project. At the same time, Ajit Pawar also reiterated the same thing and denied any political discussions.

This meeting

was also special because this was the first time after the split of NCP in July 2023 that both the leaders were seen on one stage. Ajit Pawar had then separated from Sharad Pawar and supported the Shiv Sena-BJP government. This meeting had intensified speculation about a possible reconciliation in the party, but both the leaders denied it outright.
