Fifteen-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who has made a name for himself in world cricket with his explosive batting, is all set to make his international debut. He has been selected for Team India for the two-match T20 series against Ireland and the five-match T20 series against England. Suryavanshi recalled the emotional moment when he was presented with the Indian team jersey for the first time. He said that at that moment, he realized why he had picked up the bat in the first place.

In a video shared by BCCI, Vaibhav Suryavanshi said, "It can't be expressed in words. The reason why I picked up the bat and went to the ground for practice from day one, that dream has now come true. The biggest step of that journey has been completed today. I really can't express this feeling in words. When I saw that T-shirt, it felt like a dream. I couldn't stop smiling. Sometimes things happen that you would never have imagined. We don't find words to react at that time. I felt exactly the same."

At the age of 15 years and 71 days, Vaibhav Suryavanshi was selected for the Indian senior team for the Ireland and England T20 series and the 2026 Asian Games. With his selection, Vaibhav broke Sachin Tendulkar's 36-year-old record for being the youngest player to be selected. Tendulkar made his India debut against Pakistan in 1989 at the age of 16 years and 205 days. If Suryavanshi gets the opportunity to debut against Ireland, he will become the youngest player to play for the Indian senior men's team.
