Vijaysai Reddy Resign:  YSRCP MP Vijaysai Reddy's announcement of resigning from the post of Rajya Sabha MP has surprised everyone. He had announced on Friday that he would resign today i.e. on Saturday. During this, he also mentioned PM Modi and Amit Shah. 

Vijaysai Reddy Resign:  YSRCP MP Vijaysai Reddy on Friday announced that he will stay away from active politics and plans to resign from Rajya Sabha today. He said that his future goal will be focused on farming. Reddy, a close associate of the YS family, made it clear that he will not join any other political party. He insisted that his decision to retire from politics is completely personal and has not been taken under any pressure or influence.

 

He said, 'I am leaving politics, I am resigning from Rajya Sabha membership tomorrow i.e. on 25th. I will not join any political party. I will not resign in the hope of any other post, benefit or money. This decision is completely mine. There was no pressure on me. Reddy said in an X post, 'No one influenced me.'

Reddy thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for their support during his tenure as an MP. He said, 'Special thanks to Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for encouraging me for almost 9 years, giving me immense strength and courage and getting me recognition in the Telugu states.'

He wished the YSR family, which has supported him for almost four decades, and said, "I am indebted to the YS family, who believed in me and supported me for four decades and three generations." He further said, "I will always be grateful to Jagan garu for giving me the opportunity to become a Rajya Sabha member twice and I am also thankful to Bharatamma garu for taking me to such a high level. I wish Jagan garu all the best."

Who is Vijaysai Reddy?

Vijaysai, 67, has been a central figure in Andhra Pradesh politics and a trusted aide of former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy and his son Jagan Mohan Reddy. He began his journey as a Rajya Sabha member in 2016. He served as chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism and Culture and national general secretary of the YSR Congress Party. Reflecting on his political journey, Reddy acknowledged ideological differences with the TDP but maintained a respectful personal relationship with N Chandrababu Naidu's family. He also highlighted his old friendship with Jana Sena Party leader Pawan Kalyan.
