Rainfall Alert: These States to Experience Showers on February 27-28 – Check Weather Conditions Across the Country

A fresh Western Disturbance is set to impact the weather across several states, bringing rainfall to parts of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and other regions in the coming days. As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), rain is expected in Western Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan on February 27-28, while Eastern Uttar Pradesh will see showers on February 28. Additionally, a rain alert has been issued for Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh from February 26-28.

Rainfall Expected in Northern and Eastern States

The Western Himalayan region, including Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, is likely to witness rainfall on February 25-26. Meanwhile, states in the eastern and northeastern parts of India will also experience rain and thunderstorms. The IMD has forecast:

  • Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal – Rain on February 22-23
  • Jharkhand – Showers on February 22-23
  • Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura – Rain on February 22
  • Assam and Meghalaya – Rainfall on February 22-24
  • Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, and Arunachal Pradesh – Rain on February 22-23
  • Odisha – Showers likely on February 24

Furthermore, the northeastern states have been placed under a thunderstorm and lightning alert for February 22-23.

Temperature Fluctuations Across the Country

Over the last 24 hours, daytime temperatures have dropped by 1-4°C in many regions of northwestern India, while Gangetic West Bengal has seen an increase of 3-5°C. Other key observations include:

  • Daytime temperatures were 1-3°C above normal in Maharashtra, Telangana, eastern Central India, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh.
  • In northwest India, temperatures were 1-4°C below normal, while other regions remained near average.

As for minimum temperatures, a drop of 1-2°C is expected in northwest India over the next two days, followed by a gradual rise of 3-5°C. Meanwhile, central India and Gujarat will likely see stable temperatures for the next three days before experiencing a 2-3°C increase. Other parts of the country are expected to maintain consistent temperatures for the next 4-5 days.
