Rain of money in IPL, 4500 crore rupees will be earned from advertisements, 32 companies in the race

IPL is to be broadcast on Jiostar. According to ET news, the company has set a target of earning Rs 4,500 crore from ads this year. The company has signed 32 sponsorship deals so far. Also, many deals are about to be finalized. The company wants to increase its paid streaming subscribers to 100 million (10 crores).

These big sponsors are involved

Recently Star India and Viacom 18 have merged. So this is the first IPL after that big merger. It includes big sponsors like My11Circle, Birla Opus, SBI, PhonePe, Dream11, Amul etc. Last year, Rs 4,000 crore came from total advertising on TV and digital. This time a total of 1100 advertisers are associated. It also includes big brands and SMEs. SMEs usually advertise on Google and Meta. But now Jiostar has targeted them as well. So SMEs also have a good opportunity to promote their business.

How much will the advertisement cost

Advertising packages on TV range from Rs 40 crore to Rs 240 crore. For regional partners, they start at Rs 16 crore. A 10-second ad on connected TV (CTV) costs Rs 8.5 lakh and on mobile, it costs Rs 250 per impression. JioStar wants to add 40 million (4 crore) new paid subscribers during IPL. JioHotstar was formed by the merger of Disney+ Hotstar and JioCinema. It currently has 62 million subscribers. At the time of launch, it was 50 million.

IPL 2025 will bring revolution in the advertising market

According to media reports, Jiostar's sports chief Sanjog Gupta said that IPL 2025 will be the biggest in terms of advertising and subscription. He said that advertising space on TV and CTV has almost been sold. Jiostar's target is to reach 1 billion (100 crore) viewers. The reach of sports channels has increased since 2014. IPL can add 15-20 lakh new subscribers to paid TV. ICC Champions Trophy 2025 performed 23 percent better than the 2023 World Cup on TV.
