Russian President Vladimir Putin will arrive in India on Thursday evening (December 4, 2025). Prime Minister Narendra Modi will host a private dinner in his honor at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg. This visit marks 25 years of the strategic partnership between India and Russia, a very special one for both countries.

This visit is also significant because it is Putin's first visit to India since the war in Ukraine began. The Russian President's main engagements will take place on December 5th. Several security agencies have been put on high alert ahead of Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to India, and officials are preparing elaborate security arrangements for his route and programmes in the national capital. The 23rd India-Russia summit between PM Modi and Putin will be held at Hyderabad House on Friday (December 5, 2025) at 11 am.

Will meet business leaders at Bharat Mandapam
The two leaders will visit Bharat Mandapam at around 4 pm to address the India-Russia Business Forum. The primary focus of the discussions will be on further strengthening bilateral trade. Cooperation between the two countries has grown significantly in recent years.
A possible free trade agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union, civil nuclear cooperation, the safe return of Indian citizens serving in the Russian military, and the promotion of defense ties are also likely to be discussed. President Draupadi Murmu will host a state banquet in Putin's honor at around 7 p.m. After spending approximately 30 hours in India, Putin will depart late on December 5th.
