One of the most common mistakes people make is trying to charge the phone to find out if it is still working or not. Never plug in a wet phone.

Wipe it gently from the outside

Use a soft, dry cloth or tissue paper to clean all the water visible from the surface of the phone. Do not shake the device too vigorously as this may push water inside.

Place it in a container of uncooked rice

Place the phone in an airtight container filled with uncooked rice. Rice is a natural moisture absorbent. Keep the phone immersed in the rice for at least 24 to 48 hours to completely dry it.

Use silica gel packets (if available)

If you have silica gel packets, use them instead of rice. Silica gel is more effective at absorbing moisture than rice.
