August 1st is going to be a medal-laden day for India. Preeti Pawar and Jasmine Lambodia started the day with new gold medal wins. Soman Rana also claimed gold in the men's shot put event in para-athletics. Furthermore, not one, but two Indian athletes won medals in the men's triple jump. Indian athletes shine on August 1

August 1st started on a positive note for India. Preeti Pawar won gold in the women's 54 kg boxing competition, while Jasmine Lambodia won gold in the 57 kg category. Meanwhile, in para-athletics, Soman Rana was in action in the shot put competition, securing the gold medal with a throw of 13.40 meters. Shubham Juyal secured a new silver medal in the same event.

Selva Prabhu claimed a new bronze medal in the men's triple jump, while Praveen Chitravel won a new silver. Jadumani Singh failed to excel in the men's 55kg boxing final, settling for a silver.

India ranked eighth

India had dropped out of the top 10 in the Commonwealth Games medal table a day earlier, but thanks to the impressive performance of Indian athletes on August 1st, India has now reached sixth place. India currently has 8 gold, 15 silver, and 7 bronze medals. This brings the total medal tally for Indian athletes to 30. Australia is in first place, having won 133 medals, including 57 gold. No other country has reached the 100-medal mark.
