The ICC released its latest rankings on Wednesday, August 26. Young Indian bowler Manav Sutar has made a significant jump in the Test bowling rankings, moving up 28 places.

Manav Sutar, playing only his third Test, has made a significant jump in the ICC Test bowling rankings. Sutar, a spinner, has joined the top five Indian bowlers in the ICC bowling rankings. The former is Jasprit Bumrah, who was ruled out of the Sri Lanka series due to injury. Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc has become the new number one bowler in Tests.
Sutar made his debut in the one-off Test against Afghanistan in June. He took six wickets in the first innings and one in the second, taking his total to seven wickets in his debut match. He was named Player of the Match. He also wreaked havoc with the ball in the first Test against Sri Lanka.
In the first Test played in Galle, Manav Sutar took a total of 10 wickets, including four in the first innings and six in the second. In the second Test being played at the Sinhala Sports Club, Sutar took three wickets in the first innings. This has also benefited him in the rankings.
Manav Sutar took a long jump
Manav Sutar made a significant jump in the ICC Test bowling rankings released on Wednesday, August 26th, moving up 28 places to 48th. He has joined India's top-5 bowlers. Jasprit Bumrah is in first place, and he is second in the overall list. Bumrah has 862 rating points.
Mohammed Siraj is at number two, having dropped four places in the latest rankings, dropping four spots to 18th. Ravindra Jadeja also dropped three places to 19th.
Fourth on the list of top Indian players is Kuldeep Yadav, who is not playing in the second Test due to ill health. He also dropped 12 places in the rankings, dropping to 26th.
