Moringa Burger Recipe
The mere mention of a burger makes everyone, from children to adults, salivate. However, commercially available burgers often contain excessive sauce, cheese, and calorie-rich ingredients. If you're looking for something new and delicious at home, a moringa burger is a good option. Its leaves are rich in vitamins and other nutrients. Let's learn how to make an easy moringa burger at home.
Material
You don't need many ingredients to make Moringa Burgers. They can be prepared with common ingredients found at home. For this, you need one cup of cleaned drumstick leaves, two boiled potatoes, half a cup of boiled peas, one small onion, some ginger, green chilies, salt, red chili powder, and garam masala. Use some gram flour or breadcrumbs to bind the tikkis. Additionally, to make the burgers, prepare buns, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, lettuce, and your favorite chutney or sauce. If desired, you can also add some yogurt or mint chutney to the burgers. Adjust the quantity of ingredients according to your taste and needs.
Prepare Moringa Tikki
First, wash the drumstick leaves thoroughly. Then, boil them in water for a while or lightly cook them, drain the water, and chop them finely. Now, mash the boiled potatoes in a bowl. Add the drumstick leaves, boiled peas, finely chopped onion, ginger, green chilies, and all the spices. Mix the mixture well. If it seems too wet, add a little gram flour or breadcrumbs. Now, form them into round tikkis. Heat some oil on a pan and fry them until golden brown on both sides. Cook them thoroughly inside. If you prefer, you can also make them in an air fryer. This way, you can make delicious tikkis even with less oil.
Give your burger a tasty and healthy twist
Now prepare the burger bun, cut it in half, and lightly toast it. Spread a chutney or sauce of your choice on the bottom. Top with lettuce, moringa tikkis, tomato, cucumber, and onion slices. If desired, you can enhance the burger's flavor by adding a little yogurt dip or mint chutney. Then, place the top burger on top. Your moringa burger is ready. Serve hot.
Moringa leaves add nutrients to the burger, while potatoes and peas provide flavor and texture. Keep in mind that the healthiness of a burger also depends on the ingredients and their quantity. Using less sauce, limited oil, and more fresh vegetables can make it a better choice.
