LPG Cylinder Prices Revised: Commercial Rates Rise From October 1, Domestic LPG Remains Unchanged

LPG consumers have received an important price update at the beginning of October 2026. While households have been spared from a fresh increase in cooking gas prices, businesses that depend on commercial LPG cylinders are now facing higher costs.
Oil marketing companies revised the prices of commercial LPG cylinders with effect from October 1, 2026. According to the latest rates, the price of a standard 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has increased, with the hike varying from one city to another. The increase is reported to be between ₹62.50 and ₹71.50, depending on the location.
The revision comes just ahead of the festive season, a period when restaurants, hotels, sweet shops, caterers and other food-related businesses generally experience higher demand.
19-Kg Commercial LPG Cylinder Now Costs ₹2,810 in Delhi
In Delhi, the standard 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has become ₹62.50 more expensive. Its price has increased from ₹2,747.50 to ₹2,810.
The price revision is not restricted to the standard commercial cylinder. Several other LPG cylinder categories used by businesses have also become more expensive.
The 19-kg XtraTeJ cylinder is now priced at ₹2,832.50, compared with ₹2,770 earlier. Meanwhile, the 19-kg Nano Cut cylinder has moved from ₹2,924.50 to ₹2,982.50.
Businesses that require larger cylinders will also have to pay more. The price of a 47.5-kg large cylinder has increased from ₹6,864.50 to ₹7,021. Similarly, the 47.5-kg XtraTeJ cylinder now costs ₹7,077, up from ₹6,920.50.
Small Commercial LPG Cylinders Also Become Costlier
The latest revision also covers smaller commercial and Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinders.
A new 5-kg FTL connection, which earlier cost ₹1,885, is now priced at ₹1,900.50. The refill price for the same 5-kg category has increased from ₹764 to ₹779.50.
For the smaller 2-kg FTL cylinder, the cost of a new connection has risen from ₹1,027 to ₹1,033. Its refill price has also increased, moving from ₹319 to ₹325.
These changes mean that businesses using LPG in different cylinder sizes may see an increase in their fuel expenses from October.
Domestic LPG Consumers Get Relief
Household consumers, however, have not been affected by the latest commercial LPG price hike. The price of the standard 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder remains unchanged at ₹942 under the rates cited in the report.
Other domestic cylinder categories have also retained their existing prices. A 5-kg standard domestic cylinder costs ₹349.50, while the 10-kg composite cylinder is priced at ₹673. The 5-kg composite LPG cylinder continues to cost ₹349.50.
Therefore, the October revision is primarily significant for commercial users rather than households.

Restaurants and Hotels May Face Higher Operating Costs
Commercial LPG is widely used by restaurants, hotels, roadside eateries, catering companies, bakeries, sweet shops and several other businesses. An increase in cylinder prices directly raises their fuel expenditure, particularly for establishments that consume several cylinders every month.
The timing of the increase could be important because the festive season generally brings additional demand for food, sweets, catering and hospitality services. Businesses with high LPG consumption may therefore need to factor the revised rates into their operating budgets.
Whether the higher fuel cost eventually affects food or service prices will depend on individual businesses and other input costs.
What Does the LPG Price Change Mean for Households?
For domestic consumers, there is no immediate additional burden from this particular revision because the 14.2-kg household cylinder price has been kept unchanged.
The October 1 revision, therefore, creates a clear difference between commercial and domestic LPG users: businesses are paying more for several commercial cylinder categories, while households continue to pay the existing rates cited for domestic cylinders.
Consumers should also remember that LPG prices can vary by location because of factors such as local taxes and transportation costs. Checking the latest applicable rate in their city before booking a refill can help customers know the exact amount payable.
