Jacob Bethell about Vaibhav Sooryavanshi
The third match of the India vs. England T20 series will be played on Tuesday, July 7. The first match of the series was abandoned, but England won the second. Jacob Bethell played a brilliant innings of 76 runs in that match in Manchester. Player of the Match Bethell made a significant statement about Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who made his international debut.
In his debut match, Vaibhav scored 14 runs off 10 balls, hitting two sixes. Jacob Bethell, at 22, is the youngest player in the England team. Vaibhav Suryavanshi is seven years younger than him. Bethell said, "Yes, it feels a little strange."
Bethell said after the match, "It feels a bit strange to say that I am playing against a player who is seven years younger than me. I have seen him batting in India, I saw him today also, his swing and everything else is excellent. He is talented."
Jacob Bethell was asked where this innings would rank among his favourites for England. He said he would rank it near the top. "At the very top. As a batsman, to walk out with a win, and to remain not out, there's nothing better than that," he said.
Bethell further said, "I have scored a few centuries, but only one of them was a victory. We lost in Australia and India, so after such matches you wonder what more I could have done. I am happy that we are leading the series 1-0. I have bitter memories of some defeats against Team India, so whenever we win against them, it feels good. I have also gained confidence for the last three matches."
