Breach of agreement
On Sunday morning, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) accused southern Lebanon of violating agreements and threatened to launch a retaliatory strike. The IDF alleged that Hezbollah fighters attempted to attack IDF soldiers with drones. The IDF condemned the attack, calling it a blatant violation of agreements by Hezbollah.
Sharing the information in a post on the social media platform 'Ax', the IDF said, "Hezbollah fighters launched two drones towards Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers conducting operations in the security zone of southern Lebanon. IDF soldiers returned fire and shot down one of the drones. No IDF soldiers were reported injured in the incident. In response, the IDF is now conducting strikes in southern Lebanon."
In response to the violation, IDF troops targeted Hezbollah fighters and weapons storage sites. The IDF stated that these weapons were being used to plot and direct attacks against IDF (Israeli Defense Forces) soldiers and Israeli civilians deployed in the security zone.
The IDF stated that the strikes on these targets were carried out to eliminate an immediate threat. The IDF stated that this action was in response to an attempted attack by Hezbollah. Last week, the IDF also attacked and neutralized a Hezbollah underground facility in the Ali al-Tahar Ridge area.
